The Company - builds custom mattresses by gathering a person’s body measurements and applying state-of-the-art, proprietary technologies to create a personalized sleep surface, which is monitored and analyzed to optimize sleep performance. Mattresses are made to order for individuals, rather than being mass-produced and then adjusted to individuals.
Haves - The mattress technology is in place and proven. The executive team is in place, with many years of experience in the mattress business. The have been past sales, however they are currently dormant. The company is looking to restart, using an ecommerce sales model.
- Capital - $1 million, to be used mainly for a digital marketing program and for operating expenses.
- Technology - The company wants to develop a phone app for its customers so that they can monitor their sleep data which is picked up by sensors in the bed. The data also needs to be delivered to the company so that it can be monitored for changes and alerted when adjustments need to be made.
- Marketing & Sales - The company currently plans to do most, if not all of their marketing through digital means, including social media. They may need some help in this area from experts.
Opportunity - Specialty products are by far the fastest growing segment of the $12 billion US mattress industry. The company expects to become profitable in about 12 months, and has to potential to become a $100 million within 7-10 years.
